# Update Student Import

This feature allows you to do a bulk update to existing student data. The most common use case is to bring in new assessment scores.

> [!WARNING]
> Do you have Student IDs entered for each student?
> 
> To prevent duplicates, each student will need to have a Student ID ***before*** the update import is run. If you have existing students in the system who do not have a Student ID and you do the update import you will create duplicate students.

> Directions to add missing IDs before doing the update import:
> 
> Go to the current year Digital Data Wall > Grade/Archive Students in Table View > enter missing IDs for each student > Save.
